This is the revised and enlarged edition of the Oxford Annotated Bible (1962, 1973, 1977), widely used in mainline Protestant and Roman Catholic churches and a standard textbook in colleges, seminaries, and divinity schools for three decades. It enjoys the prestige of having been coedited by Bruce M. Metzger, chairperson of the NRSV Bible Committee. Some 2,081 pages are devoted to the Bible, Apocrypha, and study helps from 36 contributors. Features include two- dozen essays, introductions and annotations to each book of the Bible and Apocrypha, 16 full-color maps, and indexes to annotations and maps. Available with and without Apocrypha, it is the standard nonconservative edition of the NRSV.

5Also in the top 10 are the LB and The Message, neither of which should be used for study; the NAB, which is not available in the study format that can be recommended to JOURNAL readers; and the New Century Version, which is not yet available in a full-featured Study Bible.

The NIV Study Bible is a study Bible originally published by Zondervan in 1985 that uses the New International Version (NIV). Revisions include one in 1995, a full revision in 2002, an update in October 2008 for the 30th anniversary of the NIV, another update in 2011 (with the text updated to the 2011 edition of the NIV), and a fully revised update in 2020 named "Fully Revised Edition".[1] Its publisher and distributors claim over nine million sold, and claim that it is the world's bestselling study bible.[1]

This edition has British spelling, grammar and punctuation. Bible text size 8.75pt.The bestselling NIV Life Application Study Bible is unparalleled among study Bibles as an invaluable aid to devotional reading, quiet times and Bible study. The rich combination of study features - including verse-by-verse notes, introductions, personality profiles and a Bible dictionary - demystify the Scriptures, helping you apply the wisdom of God to everyday life. This edition includes many detailed black and white and colour maps, along with a Harmony of the Gospels, and Family Tree presentation pages. First published in 1988, the Life Application Study Bible was developed to help people to live out the principles of scripture effectively. Compiled by a team of well-known Bible scholars and editors it quickly became the world's bestselling study Bible aimed at aiding application of Bible themes and doctrine to life today. This edition places the Life Application Bible study resources alongside the Anglicised 2011 New International Version - the most popular Bible translation in modern English.

The Study Bible is perhaps the best of the Bible study apps. It covers mostly the New Testament although it will touch on the New Testament if needed. It also contains several versions of the Bible, including the ESV, KJV, and NAS. With the app, you can also listen as several famous Christian personalities answer various questions about the Bible, life, and how you can connect one to the other. You can download it and check it out for free or pay $5.99 for the full version of the app.

The New Jerusalem Bible's decision to use a single Englishrendering for each Hebrew or Greek term is unusual for modern versions. It alsouses God's Divine Name, Yahweh, when it appears in the Old Testament Textrather than substituting the Divine Name with the word LORD in capital letterslike all other English translations. The result is a carefully produced presentationof the Sacred page that is clearly at home for both liturgy and Biblical study. It is the most read literal Catholic English translation outside the USA and myfavorite literal translation of Old Testament Sacred Scripture.
